Cambridge Crystallographic Data
Centre (CCDC)
The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre was established at the University
Chemical Laboratories in 1965 to undertake the compilation of a computerized
database containing comprehensive data for organic and organometallic
compounds studied by X-ray and neutron diffraction.

Composite Materials
Handbook
A handbook giving general information for
polymer, metal, and ceramic matrix composites areas including information
and guidance necessary to design and fabricate end items from composite
materials. It has standardization of engineering data development methodologies
related to testing, data reduction, and data reporting of property data
for current and emerging composite materials.
MatWeb: The Online Materials Information
Resource
A free materials information database with
property data on 18,255 materials including metals, plastics, ceramics,
and composites. Information can be retrieved via search by trade name,
manufacturer, material type, property and metal composition. It also
includes a Conversion Table for converting between Imperial and Metric
units.

Polymers
& Liquid Crystals
This tutorial provides a basic introduction at
the college freshman level to the fields of polymers, liquid crystals
(LC) polymer LC and LC displays. It is a cooperative effort between
the Department of Physics and the Department of Macromolecular Science
and Engineering at Case Western Reserve University in conjunction with
the Center for Advanced Liquid Crystalline Optical Materials (ALCOM)
at Kent State University.
The Macrogalleria site
: a cyberwonderland of polymer fun.
This tutorial provides working knowledge of polymers
and related concepts for students of all levels, from undergraduate
to graduate-level and the general public

Exploring
the Nanoworld
This site introduces the tools that to "see" atoms, manipulate
them, and create nano-architectural wonders. It investigates the frontiers
of the nanoworld by learning how materials are customized to create
everything from atomic trampolines to DNA to ferrofluids to semiconductors
that give off blue light! It features video demonstrations
and lab activities for grade school to college students. Hosted by the
University of Wisconsin, Madison,
MicroWorld
This is an interactive tour of current research
in the materials sciences at Berkeley Lab's Advanced Light Source.
It includes a section of classroom lessons on use of Advanced Light
Sources to probe the inner structures of materials such as Kelvar.
