Exploring the Nanoworld
This site introduces the tools that to "see" atoms, manipulate them, and create nano-architectural wonders. It investigates the frontiers of the nanoworld by learning how materials are customized to create everything from atomic trampolines to DNA to ferrofluids to semiconductors that give off blue light!
It  features video demonstrations and lab activities for grade school to college students. Hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Madison,

MicroWorld
This is an interactive tour of current research in the materials sciences  at Berkeley Lab's Advanced Light Source. It includes a section of classroom lessons on use of Advanced Light Sources to probe the inner structures of materials such as Kelvar.
