How to Search ScienceDirect databases: View Results
The total number of records found will be displayed in a brief format that includes title of article, source and author.
The results are sorted by date. Click on Sort by relevance if you wish to view the results that are most relevant to your search query.
Click on Edit Query to modify the search statement.
Click on Save Query to save your search statement for future use. Click on Save as an E-mail alert, such that new records that matches your statement would be sent to your email account. These two functions are available to Personal Login only.

Click on Abstract at the end of the brief record to see the full record details as shown below.

At the top right hand corner of the record:
Click on SummaryPlus, for abstracts with "thumbnail" images of figures, table and figure captions and references.
Click on Article, for full-text article in HTML format.
Click on Journal Format-PDF for articles that are available as full-text online

to move from record to record and click on
to go back to the brief records view.
Click on Cited By, to search for any newer articles which have cited this document.
Click on Save as Citation Alert to request an e-mail notification when a document which cites this article is added to the online collection of journals.
Click on export citation link, to export a copy of the article's abstract and/or citation to your citation management program.
