How to Search ScienceDirect databases: Mark and Save/Export Results

You can mark and save the records found at search results list or at Abstacts view.

At Search Results, you can mark the records as you browse the records by checking the box.

Click on Create Subset, to create a list of marked records only.

Click on Export citations.

At Full Record Display, records are exported one at a time.

Only the marked record numbers will be selected for export as shown at ONLY THESE DOCUMENTS.

If no records are mark, the first option All ... documents will be selected. A maximum of 1000 records can be exported.

At Export pull-down menu, select either Citations or Citations + Abstracts.

At File Format, select the either  RIS or ASCII text.  RIS allows you to use the results in a Citation management program.

Click on .

If RIS format is selected.  At the following screen, click on Save, enter a file name.  You may use Word to open the file.

 

For ASCII format, the results would be presented in the following screen. Use the Save As function of the Browser to download the records to a disk.  You can then use Microsoft Word to open the file.
