How to Search INSPEC: Chemical Indexing

This is a controlled index for inorganic compounds and systems.

To locate a specific compound, such as H2SO4, sulphuric acid, type in the chemical formulae and choose Chemical indexing field.

The expression :

For examples, some search expression for chemical substances are:

To search for Key in Advanced form
CO CO/bin
Co Co/el
H2SO4 H2SO4/ss or SO4/ss H2/ss O4/ss H/ss O/ss S/ss
NaCl NaCl/bin

From the full result display of the compound H2SO4, take note of the alternative expression.

Copy the alternative expression and redo the search again in the advanced mode.

Click on Search to go back to the search form, scroll down to the Search history.

From the Search history, select the search sets for the compound and click on Combine with OR, to retrieve all articles.
