How to Search BIOSIS Previews: Keyword Search
This is a good place to start your search if you are not familiar with this database.
Type your keywords in the search box. This is a search for the words in the abstract, title, and publisher's index terms.

To truncate your search terms, use ! for unlimited characters and * for one character. Use Boolean operators AND or OR to add more terms.
For example:
- tropical fish trade*
- (zebrafish! or osteichthyes) and Singapore
Click on Search.
While Viewing the search results, take note of the indexing terms/codes for all the relevant articles.
Conduct another search using those terms/codes identified.
Limit and Specific field searching
Good detailed description of each field and Limit scope is available in the BIOSIS online help,
At Document Type, select the type of bibliographic record represented by the document.
You can limit the search further by selecting the following check boxes:
- Human Organism to limit the documents searched to those specifically relating to human organisms.
- Abstract Records to limit the documents searched to the records which appear in abstract format.
- English Language Documents to limit the documents searched to those which appear in English.
Select Dates and select a date range from the drop-down menu
