This subject guide covers resources available at the NUS Libraries. This is not a comprehensive subject guide, but rather a selective list of materials that are most useful for locating information in Environment Management.

Databases

Databases are a good a place to begin research. They may contain articles in journals, papers in conference proceedings, newspapers, chapters in books, reports and reviews.

Scopus
Librarian's take: An abstract and indexing database to primarily Science and Social Science disciplines. An useful multidisciplinary navigational tool to journal articles and also to find out which articles are being cited by other scholars.

CSA Illumina
Librarian's take: Searches multiple databases such as Environmental Sciences & Pollution Management; Digests of Environmental Impact Statements; and Oceanic Abstracts. Includes Conference Papers Index to environmental sciences.

Geobase (1994- )
Librarian's take: Provides indexes and abstracts via SilverPlatter platform. Includes subject areas relating to Geography, Earth Sciences, Developmental Studies, Ecology, Environmental Pollution, Human Geography, Oceanography and more.

Engineering Village 2 (Compendex, 1969- ; Inspec, 1969- ; NTIS, 1899- )
Librarian's take: Full-text journal articles, proceedings, unclassified government reports to topics within scientific, applied science, technical and engineering disciplines.

Web of Science (Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts & Humanities Citation Index, 1980- )
Librarian's take: Full-text journal articles, proceedings to topics within science, social sciences, and arts and humanities disciplines. Also include analytical tools in evaluating and ranking journals.

Factiva
Librarian's take: Full-text news articles and business information including market research, investment analyst reports and stock quotes from global news agencies.  Search limits by industries include Construction & Real Estate, and Environment & Waste Management.

Frost and Sullivan  (Registration for first time user)

A comprehensive database of dissertations and theses records from around the world. Full-text available with 24-page preview of selected dissertation. It allows natural language searching and menu-driven search facility retrieves information quickly and easily.

Established in August 2004 at the School of Design and Environment through the support of the Economic and Development Board (EDB), the National Environment Agency (NEA) and the Energy Market Authority (EMA).

Internet Resources on Environmental Law
APCEL was established in 1996 by the Faculty of Law, NUS on the initiative of the Faculty of Law and the Commission on Environmental Law (CEL) of the World Conservation Union (IUCN), in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The internet resources on environment law is a compilation by APCEL containing hyperlinks to information on environmental law.

National Climate Change Committee
Contents by National Climate Change Committee (NCCC) of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources. Formerly the National Energy Efficiency Committee (NEEC) in 2001, and Inter-agency Committee on Energy Efficiency (IACEE) in 1988 to address energy efficiency issues in Singapore.
