SPIE digital library
An extensive resource covering optics, photonics and imaging engineering
with access to more than 260,000 technical papers from SPIE journals and
selective Conference Proceedings from 1990 to the present. More than 17,000
new technical papers are added annually. SPIE collaborated with the American
Institute of Physics (AIP) to develop the digital library which is being
hosted on AIP's Scitation platform. SPIE records are also included in AIP’s
SPIN database.

Librarian's take: Global coverage on all aspects of theory, production, and
application of solid state materials and devices and high- and

Librarian's take: It provides comprehensive information and references for
nanoscale structures, devices, and systems, molecular technology and
nanoelectromechanical theory, and promises to become a standard reference

Atomic Spectroscopic Database (from NIST)
This database provides access and search capability for critically evaluated
data on atomic energy levels, wavelengths, and transition probabilities that
are reasonably up-to-date. The Atomic Energy Levels Data Center and Data
Center on Atomic Transition Probabilities and Line Shapes have carried out
these critical compilations.

PhysLink, a site that links you to the latest news from various physics
institutions and societies, reviews of science software, images of
physicists, quotations, cartoons and physics humour, etc.
The Basics of MRI, by Dr. Joseph P. Hornak. This is an online tutorial
explains the physics behind magnetic resonance images and the mathematics of
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. It includes a section on glossary and symbols.

Electromagnetism in animation
This site teaches electromagnetism using animations. It has video clips
showing magnetic field line billowing out from charged objects and
current-carrying wires. Experiements showing Faraday's Law, radiation,
electrostatics and magnetostatics. Very cool images. Produced by Professors
John Belcher and Stanislaw Olbert and Mark Bessette at the Massachusetts

Physics 2000
Physics 2000 relies heavily on the use of interactive "applets to explain
physics to a wide audience. It uses cartoon characters to explain the
physics and students can set in motion or adjust these clever Java
"experiments".
Physics applet by the Department of Physics, University of Oregon, is a
collection of Java applet which explains physics, astronomy and
environmental sciences. This is an interactive site with Java "experiments".
U.C. Berkeley Physics Lecture Demonstrations
This site contains many of the old, classic, well-known favorite, as a well
as new, physics demonstrations. Produced by the University of California
Physics Department at Berkeleys for their undergraduates. Subject includes
from astronomy to magnetism to waves.

This is an archive of more than 75 citations of 20th century women who have
made original and important contributions to physics. The citations describe
