Databases are a good a place to begin research. They may contain articles
in journals, papers in conference proceedings, newspapers, chapters in
books, reports and reviews.
Business Source Premier
Librarian's take: Business Source Premier (BSP) is sometimes known as
EBSCOHost. Its strength is in its academic content. Some key journals
include Human Relations, Harvard Business Review, Management Science and
Administrative Science Quarterly. Besides
academic journals, BSP also has trade publications and magazines such as
Academy of Management Review, Personnel Psychology and Human Resource
Development Quarterly. BSP tends to focus on the US and very little
on Singapore. Asian coverage is fairly well covered.
ABI/INFORM
Librarian's take: This is a
comprehensive
full text database of business, management & public administration
international journal articles. It includes ABI/Inform Global, ProQuest
Asian Business & Reference and Hoover's Company Records. Some key journals
and newspapers include MIT Sloan Management Review, Fortune, Psychology
Today, Financial Times and Wall Street Journal (Eastern Edition).
PsycInfo
Librarian's take:
This is a
database produced by the American Psychological Association. It provides
abstracts and bibliographic citations to articles in the field of
psychology. Records include over 1,400 journals and some dissertations,
books and book chapters. It includes empirical studies, case studies,
surveys, bibliographies, literature reviews, discussion articles, and
conference reports. Some key journals include Emotion, Journal of Applied
Psychology, Professional Psychology and Research & Practice.

Factiva
Librarian's take: This is a full text database of newspaper articles. It is
a great place to search Singapore articles from the Straits Times, Business
Times, The Edge, The New Paper, Asian Banker, TODAY and Channel NewsAsia.

an alternative to Factiva. It includes newspapers such as Straits Times and
