Simple
Search
Simple search allows you to
search the catalogue with only a topic in mind and even when
you do not have an exact title or author.
The keyword index includes
significant words from titles of books, journals and series,
corporate, personal and conference names, contents notes as well as subject headings.
Click
on Simple search.
At
the search box, type in your
keywords. E.g. India and (aged or elderly)

Truncation.
A
list of records with the keywords you typed is shown. By
default, the list is sorted by date of publication.
Browse the list and click on the relevant records. You may
click on the box in the Mark column next to the record to
mark
and save records.
When
viewing the full record, take note of the Location and Call
# of the item. Some records have
table
of contents showing the chapters in the book.
When
viewing a relevant record, look at the SUBJECTS used. Click
on one of the subjects used to find other items on the same
topic, e.g. Older people
-- India -- Social conditions.
Click
on Modify Search to change the terms you have typed,
click on Another Search to do new keyword search or
click on Start Over to search by another option.
