How to Search ABI/Inform on Proquest for Cited References

To locate journal articles that have cited your article, book, book chapter or papers published in full text journals in ABI/Inform.

From NUS Libraries homepage, under Major Databases, click on ABI/Inform.

Type in some terms that would retrieve your references. It is important to try all possible formats. E.g. your surname and parts of the article or book title - Derrida W/10 "archive fever".

Note that using W/n specifies that the two words must must occur within n words and in that order. Using " " ensures the words appear as a phrase.

Click on More Search Options and Look for terms in: Citation and document text.

Click on Search. This search matches exactly terms in the reference list of each article. The results of the search are heavily dependent on how the references are done.

From the results list, click on the title for each article and scroll through the article to verify that the cited reference is correct.

Look at record no. 2 as an example:

Moss, Michael. Archivist: friend or foe? Records Management Journal. 2005. Vol. 15, Iss.2; p. 104 (11 pages) had cited Derrida, J. (1996) Archive Fever: A Freudian Impression, translated by Prenowitz, E., Chicago: Chicago University Press in his article.
