Dow Jones InteractiveLoh Mee Lan, Central Library RIS Dept The Web version of Dow Jones Interactive (DJI) has been made available since the end of April 1999. DJI provides access to over 6,000 sources from newswires, newspapers, magazines and trade journals. The newspapers covered include Asian Wall Street Journal, Bangkok Post, Business Times (Singapore), The Financial Times, Times (London), New York Times, Straits Times. Most of these sources have the full text of the articles. Access to DJI is controlled by NUS IP addresses. DJI is available to NUS staff and students when they are logged in to NUSNET. To access DJI, point your browser to:
At DJI Home page, click on the service you want. You have access to Business Newsstand to browse leading newspapers, Web Center to search selected corporate, industry, government and news Web sites and Publications Library to search the full text publications in DJI. To search the recent six months for articles on Asian crisis impact on Singapore, just enter your terms separated by Boolean operators (Singapore and Asian crisis) in the search box and change the settings for the date range if required.
If you want to search all 6,000 publications in DJI Publications Library, make sure you check All Publications instead of Selected Publications before you click on Run Search. The search results will then be displayed. Click on the check box on the left of the title to select the relevant articles. Click on View articles at the bottom of the screen. If you only want to view one article, just click on the title to go to the full text.

To print or save the article, click on Format for Printing, at the bottom of the full text screen. This opens another window containing only the text with the frames used by DJI. Use your Web browser to print or save the article.
You may want to search a specific source or a few selected sources instead of all publications, e.g. Straits Times and Business Times only. At the Publications Library search screen, click on the Dow Jones - Selected Publications drop-down box under Selected Publications and choose Singapore ST & BT. If the source is not available in the drop-down box, click on Revise Publications to choose from the publications list. You can add or remove the publication sources as desired. Click on Finish when you are done. After clicking Revise publications, you can view the publications list and click on the title of a specific source to view details such as date of first issue, frequency of publication.
