Datastream in HSSML
Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library
Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library is happy to announce that we have access to Datastream Service via two personal computers located on the first floor of the Library. Datastream provides comprehensive data plus sophisticated analysis for equity analysts, fund managers and economists from all over the world.
The service consists of world-wide historical data as well as consensus forecasts for earnings estimates and economic trends. The statistical data spans the last thirty years. Datastream can be used for technical, fundamental and quantitative analysis. The data can be downloaded and graphs exported rapidly, in a variety of formats, for further manipulation.
Datastream covers:
- 45,000+ equities
- company accounts/corporate fundamentals
- all major stock market and sectors indices
- interest and exchange rates world-wide
- economic data for emerging markets, newly industrialised and industrialised countries
- 85,000+ bonds
- commodities
The two PCs with Datastream installed are clearly labelled. Faculty of Business Administration students and staff may book the use of Datastream at the Information Counter. Each user may book only one 30-minute session in person for the same day. The Library has only one id for access although the two PCs are loaded with the program. Students and staff may refer to the Datastream manuals for the different types of financial and economic data at the Information Counter.
