Notable acquisitions for Chinese studies


Chinese Library Head

The Chinese Library has also recently acquired the following materials on Chinese studies:

Collections of rare novels held by the Beijing Library.
Beijing: Shu Mu Wen Xian Chu Pan She, 1996. 15 v.
PL2625 Bjts CH Closed Stacks (C6445-6459)
Includes 13 rare novels published during the Ching dynasty, photo-reproduced from rare editions.

Selections of rare Chinese classical novels.
Shenyang: Chun Feng Wen Yi Chu Pan She, 1994. 10 v.
PL2625 Zggd CH Main Shelves
Includes 50 classical Chinese novels, selected for re-publication in a modern edition, with punctuation.

Collections of books which are listed in the Four Treasury as banned publications.
Beijing: Beijing Publishing House, 1997. 60 v.
AC149 Skgs.Jh CH Office
Scheduled to be completed in 3 years, these collections include about 3,000 titles on various subjects, which were either banned from circulation or destroyed during the Chien-lung regime, 1736-1795.
