Welcome to NUS LibraryYou now have access to the resources of the largest academic library in Singapore! The NUS Library System comprises the Central Library and five Special Libraries, namely the Chinese Library (within the Central Library Building), the Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library (for Business Administration), the Law Library, the Medical Library and the Science Library. The main collections at the Central Library are the humanities, social sciences, engineering, architecture and building. Staff and students are entitled to use the resources in all the libraries. During the next few years, you will need to use the Library frequently in connection with your studies and research as well as reading for personal growth. How effective a user you can be will depend on whether you know how to access the materials within the library as well as the wide range of electronic resources we offer on NUSNET, the campus network. You will certainly want to acquire basic information searching skills.
We invite you to attend the library orientation programme planned especially for you; it will introduce you to not only the library's resources but also its services. Come and find out for yourself! Do not rely on second-hand information which may disadvantage you.
All the libraries hold orientation programmes specially tailored to the primary needs of the students they serve. The details are available. You can attend any sessions relevant to you. Jill Quah
