Journals on the Web

Ng Kok Koon, Head, Science Library &
Lee Cheng Ean, Head, Central Library Serials Dept

You do not have to wait impatiently anymore for journals to arrive at the Library. Since late June 1996 a number of journals subscribed by the Library are available electronically on the World Wide Web, complete with text, diagrams, formulas, tables, charts, etc., exactly what you see in the print version. With electronic access, not only can you access the information weeks before the journals arrive in the Library, you are also able to search by author or keyword to get to the exact article that you need. Back issues of these journals are also accessible and entire articles can be printed.

Currently there are more than twenty journals that we have signed up site licenses for the University. Instead of going to the Library you can now read these journals in the comfort of your own office. The method of accessing these journals varies; some do not require any password and some require you to register online for a password. For other journals you need to come to the Information Desk of the Central Library or the Science Library to register for a password. Please refer to the instructions given in the annotation for the journal found on the Library's webpage on Electronic Journals.
