CD-ROM Highlights
The Art of People Management multimedia CD-ROM consists of two discs entitled Managing self : becoming perfect and Managing others : human resource management. The CD-ROMs are in English and Chinese. It is jointly produced by Dr Jean Lee and Mrs Ma Kheng Min, both lecturers of the Faculty of Business Administration, NUS.
Managing self : becoming perfect aims to help users understand that managing self is the key factor to success. It describes seven principles of effective self-management -- proactive, empowering, reflective, focus, empathic, collaborative and Tao. The CD-ROM illustrates these principles by using cartoons, a mini lecture and self-assessments. The CD-ROM also tracks the self-assessments of users and provides a score to indicate how well they manage themselves.
Managing others : human resource management, on the other hand, provides users with an understanding of human resource management concepts. The CD-ROM consists of a lecture, behaviour modelling and assessments. Job interview skills, coaching skills, presentation skills, appraisal skills and career counselling skills are presented in five role plays.
