CD-ROM Highlights
This is the compact disk version of the printed Human Rights Bibliography : United Nations Documents and Publications,1980-1990 fZ7164 Lib.Hu (CLREF). It updates the printed version's coverage through to 15 October 1993, and contains over 12,000 bibliographic references. It will be updated annually. Due to the quantity of documentation, references to the following have been largely omitted:
Contains the full text of directives and regulations relating to the environmental laws of the European Communities, plus commentary. Also includes outlines of Treaty provisions, and relevant case law from the European Court of Justice and European Court of First Instance. The relevant legislation is selected from CELEX : Official Legal Database of the European Communities, which is also available at Law Library. In addition, the full text of derivatives is given (which is not available in CELEX). It also contains commentary which interprets the purpose and effect of the laws. The disk is updated quarterly.
This is the compact disk version of the printed edition KB190 SCP (LWREF). It contains the text of volumes 1 and 2 of the main work, the tables and index volume, the County Court Rules Supplement and the second Cumulative Supplement.
Volume 1 contains the complete Rules of the Supreme Court 1965, as amended, governing the High Court and Court of Appeal (Civil Division). It also has an authoritative annotation to the Rules done by a team of over 20 editors.
Volume 2 has forms relating to the Queen's Bench, Chancery and Admiralty practice, as well as Practice Directions, procedural tables and relevant legislation.
The Index and Tables contains a revised index and tables of cases, statutes and statutory instruments. The County Court Rules Supplement has the full text of the County Court Rules with commentary and cross-references to the analogous Rules of the Supreme Court in volume 1.
The disk is updated every six months.
The disk is the result of a joint project by the Law Society of Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic. The project is endorsed by the National Crime Prevention Council. This is an interactive multi-media project aimed at educating youth on crime and its punishment.
It has video clips, photographs and relevant criminal statistics pertaining to the various offenses committed. Items at the main menu include Courts Procedure, Police Investigations and Prison.
