LINC Tips : Printing or downloading

Have you ever wanted to get a printout or to save the records you retrieve from LINC? You can easily save the screens or records you see in LINC when you use LINC for Windows. If you do not have have LINC for Windows, buy it using Windows Shopping in NUSNET-II.
If you wish to capture another session, make sure you change the filename, or else you will be asked whether you want to overwrite your first file.
Your files are in ASCII format which can be printed using:
- DOS print command
- At the DOS prompt, type: print filename
- Windows print command
- Go to the Main folder, start File Manager.
- Find your file and select it.
- Click on File and Associate to choose a software to associate with the file. You could choose programs like Notepad or Word.
- To print the file, click on File and Print.
- Any word processor
- On WordPerfect
- Start the program, click on File and select Open.
- Look for your file in the right drive.
- Click on OK and you should see the file on the screen.
- Click on File and Print.
- On Microsoft Word
- Start the program, click on File and select Open.
- Look for your file in the right drive.
- If you have not named the file with DOC as the file extension, to see your file, change the option for List Files of Type to All Files.
- Look for your file in the right drive.
- Click on OK and you should see the file on the screen.
- Click on File and Print.
- Before printing, you could do some editing to remove the lines which you do not want.
- You could also paste the relevant portions to add to your bibliography in your assignment.
