Bibliography on NUS history


On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the National University of Singapore, the NUS Library is pleased to announce the publication of a 119-page bibliography on NUS entitled 90 years of NUS history : a select bibliography. (Call number: fZ5055.12 Nusn).

The bibliography contains 1,501 records, all of which are held in the NUS Library. It is compiled by the Central Library's Reference & Information Services Department and the Chinese Library. Edited by Lee-Wang Cheng Yeng, Head of RIS Dept, and Lee Ching Seng, Head of Chinese Library, it includes sources such as legislations, official university publications, articles, books, conference papers, journals, newsletters, theses, university press releases and audiovisual materials. The bibliography aims to reflect the historical development of the University, its various faculties, administrative and supporting units. It also has materials on staff and student matters.

The records are arranged in sections according to the historical development of the various institutions (King Edward VII College of Medicine, Raffles College, University of Malaya, Nanyang University, University of Singapore) which led to the formation of the National University of Singapore in August 1980. The bibliography also contains citations in Chinese on the history of Nanyang University.
