Take care of your belongings

The Library is one of the favourite haunts of many people in the campus. It is frequented by all categories of users including students and staff as well as external members and occasional outsiders. The Library buildings are also very open. Generally in places where there are many people, there are bound to be some bad hats around who are easily tempted by valuables and bags lying around. Not surprisingly, the Library occasionally received reports from users who have lost their valuables.

Library users can help to reduce such petty theft by observing the following:

  1. Do not leave your personal belongings unattended.
  2. Ask your friend to look after your belongings if you need to go off to another location even for a short while.
  3. Do not bring expensive items to the Library.
  4. Do not leave your wallet unattended.
  5. If you see any suspicious persons in the Library, report immediately to Library staff.

While the Library staff will continuously keep a watchful eye to make the Library a safe place for its users, the best deterrent for such crimes is for our users to be careful and not be complacent when it comes to taking care of their personal properties.
