Photocopy and printing services in the Library

Vimala Nambiar, Central Library Document Delivery Services Coordinator

As has been announced earlier on NUSNET, a new vendor has been awarded the tender for the photocopying and laser printing services in the six NUS libraries with effect from 1 December 1999.

In addition to cash cards and coins, the new vendor's machines use a magnetic card for photocopying and laser printing. The cards are sold by the vendor in all the six NUS libraries and come in denominations of $3, $5 and $10 with a 50 cents deposit for the card.

A colour photocopier is available in each of the following libraries: Central Library, Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library, Medical Library and Science Library.

For library members who hold no cash cards or magnetic cards and wish to photocopy in the operator-manned photocopy rooms in the NUS libraries, the vendor has made provisions for copying and paying by cash. The procedure for making use of this facility is:

  1. Place a deposit of $1 with the vendor's staff
  2. Collect a magnetic card from them
  3. Photocopy and return magnetic card to vendor's staff
  4. Pay vendor's staff for the photocopies made
  5. Collect the deposit of $1

Reimbursements from previous vendor

Staff, students and other library members who may still hold copy cards with value in them from Bestcopier Pte Ltd, the previous vendor, can have them reimbursed by Bestcopier's staff from 3-31 January 2000. Reimbursements will be made 11 am to 5 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 11 am to 1 pm on Saturdays at Yusoff Ishak House, Level Three, Students Lounge (near TV viewing area). Please note that after this period there will be no more reimbursements.
