Mr Hon Sui Sen (16 Apr 1916-14 Oct 1983)

"Hon Sui Sen, [Singapore’s former Minister of Finance from 1970-1983] had devoted 44 years of his life serving the nation, first as a top civil servant then as a senior cabinet minister. During that time, he played a major role in Singapore’s industrial development and banking activities. He helped to consolidate Singapore as an international financial market and restructured the control and supervision of the stock market. He was a significant force behind Singapore’s economic growth and had helped to ensure the continuation of that growth."    - A Tribute to Hon Sui Sen.
