A searchable database containing common acronyms and abbreviations about all subjects, with a focus on computers, technology, telecommunications, and the military.

Community Of Science (COS) Expertise Database
Searchable biographical database that gives information on "more than 65,000 common-format, first-person profiles of researchers and scholars, built in collaboration with over 200 leading research universities, government agencies, and other R&D organizations from the U.S. and Canada." 

INFOMINE : Scholarly Internet Resource Collection
"INFOMINE is intended for the introduction and use of Internet/Web resources of relevance to faculty, students, and research staff at the university level. It is being offered as a comprehensive showcase, virtual library and reference tool containing highly useful Internet/Web resources including databases, electronic journals, electronic books, bulletin boards, listservs, online library card catalogs, articles and directories of researchers, among many other types of information."

NASA Technical Report Server (NTRS)
"The NASA Technical Report Server is an experimental service that allows users to search the many different abstract and technical report servers maintained by various NASA centers and programs." Subject coverage of databases includes aerospace and related disciplines, computer science, environmental science, etc.

NSF SUCCEED Engineering Visual Database
This site contains an "online repository of images for use by engineering faculty and students."

Thomas Register of American Manufacturers SM 
To find a product, service, company (American or Canadian) or brand name. You must be registered as member before using the database.

SearchLight (Public Version)
This is part of the California Digital Library. This site allows you to search for the many publicly-available databases and resources on the Internet at the same time. The databases searched include library catalogues and other books, journal indexes (indexes and abstracts to journals), electronic text and documents, web directories, etc. 

TiARA
"TiARA stands for Timely information for All, Relevant and Affordable. TiARA is a multi-agency effort of the National Computer Board, the National Library Board, the National Science and Technology Board and participating libraries... TiARA provides access to library catalogues, online databases, internet resources and a calendar of events." TiARA is available to Singapore residents and registration is required before use.
