Singapore Statistics

General

  • One-Minute Singapore by the Ministry of Information & the Arts in Singapore gives useful statistics on various topics, including education, household wealth, land & climate, health and tourism.
  • Key Economic Indicators gives gross domestic product, economic growth, inflation, trade and exchange rates for selected years. Provided by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
  • SingSTAT Online is provided by the Singapore Department of Statistics. It features the SingSTAT datashop where data can be purchased for a fee, as well as information such as 1) Singapore in Figures containing statistical information on over 60 aspects of economic and social data of Singapore, 2) Key Annual Indicators, and 3) Selected Historical Data.
  • The World Factbook by CIA includes a brief overview of Singapore, with selected statistics.
  • Singapore: Country Study is produced by the US Federal Research Division and gives an overview of Singapore. The Appendix Tables is good for data on Singapore up to 1988, including population growth for selected years from 1824 to 1988.

Building and Construction

  • Construction Statistics under Stats and Publications includes cost indices and construction demand and output. Maintained by the Building & Construction Authority.
  • HDB Annual Reports especially in Statistics & Charts gives data on public housing in Singapore. Maintained by Housing and Development Board.
  • Statistics under Corporate Info gives times series data on the industrial facilities managed by the Jurong Town Corporation. Includes land productivity, performance of industrial facilties and JTC Annual Report.
  • Property Market Data by the Urban Redevelopment Authority gives the market trends for private and commercial property in Singapore.

Arts, Media & Culture

  • Arts and Media in Singapore is produced by the Ministry of Information and the Arts and contains tables on arts programmes attendances, television and broadcasting industry and more.
  • Culture and Recreation is part of Singapore in Figures and gives number of television licences, cable subscribers and cinemas, and daily newspaper circulation.

Business, Industry & Trade

  • Survey Findings maintained by Dept of Statistics and gives the major findings of the quarterly business expectations survey and annual business surveys (also known as Economic Surveys Series) in PDF. Includes services industry, hotels, transport, corporate sector, investment abroad, equity investment.
  • EDB Annual Reports has a Factfile which gives the performance of the various industries, investment commitments and Singapore's competitiveness ranking.

Census of Population

  • Census 2000 maintained by Dept of Statistics provides the advanced data release from the census of population conducted in 2000 and with selected historical data.

Education

  • Education Statistics Digest gives the number of education institutions, enrolment in schools, polytechnics and universities in Singapore. Also includes government expenditure on education.
  • Education is part of Singapore in Figures and gives educational attainment, number of students and teachers, graduates from institutions of higher learning. Also has government recurrent expenditure on education per student.

Environment

  • Publications by the Ministry of the Environment includes:
    • Annual Report which has information on air quality, water quality and epidemiology.
    • Pollution Control Report includes some tables and charts on air and water pollution.

  • PSI Reading has daily and current two months readings of the PSI, to measure the air pollution or haze level.

Finance

  • Data Room by the Monetary Authority of Singapore has information such as Key Economic & Financial Indicators, Financial Database, Monthly Statistical Bulletin, Insurance Statistics and Credit Cards.
  • Ministry of Finance gives charts on government expenditure and official foreign reserves.
  • Singapore Exchange has many statistics and charts available under Prices and Statistics.
  • Finance and Government Finance which are part of Singapore in Figures has more finance data.

Information Technology & Communications

  • Facts and Figures of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore gives Quarterly Quality of Service performance results for mobile service, paging service and Internet access service, Statistics on Postal Services Statistics for Telecom Services, IT Household Survey Results and ICT Usage Survey Results.
  • Key Facts and Figures is maintained by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. It gives some background information on infocomm technology, meteorology, land, sea and air transport in Singapore.

Labour

  • Employment includes labour force, unemployment rate, labour participation rate as extracted from the Yearbook of Statistics. Provided by Dept of Statistics.
  • Labour Force Participation Rate from 1970 to current. Provided by Dept of Statistics.

Medical

  • Health Facts Singapore is maintained by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. It contains statistical information on the population and vital statistics in Singapore, principal causes of death, health facilities, health manpower, childhood immunisation and government health expenditure.
  • National health survey 1998 gives prevalence of diabetes, hypertension, blood cholesterol, obesity, smoking and alcohol drinking among different ethnic groups. Also surveys the frequency of exercise among the respondents.
  • SEAMIC Health Statistics includes many medical statistics for Singapore and other Asian countries.

Social

  • Social Indicators has some key annual indicators. Maintained by the Dept of Statistics.
  • Key Tables from the Yearbook of Statistics has some social statistics like culture and recreation. Maintained by the Dept of Statistics.
  • NLB Annual Report gives number of visitors, members and loan statistics in Statistical Summary. Maintained by National Library Board.
  • Fast Facts gives at a quick glance some figures on number of libraries, loans and collection. Maintained by National Library Board.
  • Culture and Recreation includes statistics on Television Licences, Cable Vision Subscribers and Cinemas National Library, Daily Newspaper Circulation and Utilisation of Sports Facilities. Maintained by the Dept of Statistics.
  • Women Matters gives some tables on education, employment and health. Maintained by Ministry of Community Development and Sports.

Tourism

  • Tourism Statistics gives selected graphs, tables, statistical reports, and factsheet from the Singapore Tourism Board.
