Asian
Civilisations Museum "aims to focus on the ancestral cultures of
Singaporeans." It features exhibits from Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Asia,
the West Asian/Islamic region as well as special collections from other regions.

Chinaman
Scholar's Gallery is "a faithful recreation of the home of a Chinese scholar of the 1920s and 1930s, complete with kitchen, bedroom, dining and
living areas. The Gallery houses furniture, porcelain, musical instruments and photographs from the period and offers an insight into
the lives of Singapore's earliest Chinese settlers."

History Museum seeks to "explore and enhance the national identity of Singapore
by preserving, presenting, and intepreting the nation's history and material culture in
the context of its multi-cultural origins." It features a calendar of events
and galleries showcasing the museum's exhibits.

The Raffles
Museum of Biodiversity Research contains "the single
largest collection of Southeast Asian fauna in the
region." Its collection comprises the 1) Zoological
Reference collectionm which includes the historical collection of
the former Raffles Museum, 2) the Botanical Collection
(Herbarium), and the Culture Collection.

Singapore
Science Centre features interactive exhibits such as the Ominmax Theatre, the Online
Science Exhibits as well as the image library. It also features online publications,
quizzes and puzzles.

Military Museums

Republic
of Singapore Air Force Museum "traces the development of the Republic of Singapore Air Force
from its early days as the Malayan Volunteer Air Force in 1939 to present day."
It features a "vast
array of artifacts, including early planes such as the Hunter Hawker, the SF 260
Marchetti and the A4-C Skyhawk."

Singapore Discovery Centre
is a showcase of high-tech, interactive exhibits on the Singapore Armed Forces. It
also features virtual tours of the various exhibits and galleries.

Navy Museum features "exhibits tracing the development of naval forces in Singapore from the Straits Settlement Royal Volunteer Reserve of the
nineteenth century to today's Republic of Singapore Navy."
Exhibits include "antique marine equipment, historic photographs and
even details of the sophisticated, high technology missile corvette vessels."

Archives

National
Archives of Singapore was "established...for the preservation and administration
of the archives." It features a selection of archival materials such as public
records, building plans, oral history recording, photographs, and the audio-visual
collection. An archive of images called PICAS
(Picture Archives Singapore) was developed to offer a searchable database of valuable
historical photographic information.
