- American Library Association has information about their organisation,
divisions and committees, and on upcoming events like conferences, meetings and workshops. They have detailed their plans for the future in Goal 2000.
For publications and videos produced by the ALA, check at the Marketplace.
- American Society of Indexers includes information on indexing which comprises FAQs, history, tools and a bibliography.
It also has links to Internet sources relevant to indexing. Check out their index for their Web site.
- American Society for Information Scientists has information about ASIS and its achievements.
- Association for Information Management (Aslib) has information about the organisation.
Includes fulltext articles from their journal Managing Information, current awareness abstracts and details of Aslib publications.
- Association of Independent Information Professionals has information about the association and membership.
It has a code of ethics for information professionals. Information on conferences it organises is also available.
- Association of Research Libraries has links to its member libraries and even has job opportunities.
Under the section on Publications, some of the statistical surveys done by the Association are available.
- Australian Library and Information Association has information about its organization and includes policy statements on library issues like copyright, access to information.
Also has Courses in library and information studies for ALIA-recognised courses.
- Canadian Library Association has information about the Association and its activities.
- Institute of Information Scientists has information about the organisation and jobs for information scientists.
- International Federation of Library and Information Associations has information about the organization and its publications.
For some publications like the IFLA Journal, they have included abstracts. There is information on IFLA conferences the fulltext of some papers from the earlier conferences are available.
They have also gathered some pointers to topics like cataloguing, copyright, policy and library humour
under the section on Electronic Collections.
- LIANZA : Library and Information Association New Zealand Aotearoa has basic information about itself.
- Library Association in UK has only some brief information about the activities of the association.
- Library Association of Singapore has sections on its history, committees, bulletin, calendar of events, etc.
- Research Library Group is 'devoted to improving access to information that support research and learning'.
The papers in their journal and conference proceedings are available at their website. Also has links to topics of interest to the Group, like RLG Digital Initiatives.
- World List of Departments and Schools of Information Studies, Information Management,
Information Systems, etc. is maintained by the Dept of Information Studies in the University of Sheffield.
