United Kingdom

  • British Library OPAC allows you to search the major Reference and Document Supply collections from the British Library.
  • COPAC provides unified access to the online catalogues of some of the largest university research libraries in the UK and Ireland.

United States

  • Library of Congress Z39.5 Gateway allows you to search the Library of Congress catalogue, many libraries in the United States and some from other countries with Z39.5 catalogues.
  • MELVYL is part of the California Digital Library which features the library collections of the University of California and other libraries.  It consists of the MELVYL Union Catalog (CAT) with over 9 million unique titles and the California Periodicals Database (PE) which is a union database of over 814,000 serials in California libraries.

  • INNOPAC Libraries has links to the catalogues of libraries using Innovative Interfaces Inc.
  • LibCat : a guide to library resources on the Internet allows you to search for a library's catalogue, with listings by country inside the United States and others. It also has introductions to what catalogues are, how to use them, and many other
    tips. Maintained by Dana Noonan.
     
  • LibDex: the Library Index is a worldwide directory of library homepages, web-based OPACS, friends of the library pages, library vendors, library news, etc.  Edited and compiled by Peter Scott.
  • Online Library Catalogs by Galaxy provides links to library catalogues of many countries, including the Americas, Europe/Scandinavia, Asia/Pacific/South Africa.
