• CollegeNet aims to give 'admissions information for colleges, universities and graduate programs' in America. It mostly gives the address, telephone, enrollment and tuition of each institution. The featured universities have more substantial information and some even have an application form available.
   
• Peterson's Education Center by Peterson's Guides has sections for colleges & universities and graduate study, among others in America and Canada. Selected portions from their printed guides are available at their web site, like brief information about the university and the courses offered. You can browse or search by institution name, course offered, etc.
   
• International Education Centers gives links to universities in various countries, with comprehensive listings for Asia.
   
• Princeton Review has a searchable database of American universities with detailed writeups including students' comments on campus life and teaching, as well as, some ranking information and tuition fees.
   
• Internet College Exchange is produced by CERR llc. It features different universities at different times, with a search feature for the contact information for universities in America.

• Braintrack University Index provides links to higher educational institutions in the world.  It is categorized by five major geographical regions: Africa, America, Asia, Australia and Europe.
   
• China Universities is maintained by the China Education & Research Network (CERNET) and lists the universities in China by province, with links to their homepages.
   
• College and University Home Pages by Christina DeMello of MIT. Gives links to universities world-wide. There is geographically arranged page.
   
• New Zealand Prospectus System by the Ministry of Education is a database of programmes of study in New Zealand. Programmes offered at state tertiary institutions and private training establishments leading to a formal recognised education is covered in this database.
   
• THESIS Directory, maintained by the Times Higher Education Supplement Internet Service.
   
• Universities and other Degree Awarding Institutions in the United Kingdom, maintained by the Dept of Education and Employment.
   
• Yahoo's Colleges and Universities has links to the home pages of various universities, arranged by country.

Rankings

• Best Universities 2000 by Asiaweek updates their 1999 ranking and 1998 ranking. Also includes Asia's Best MBAs 2000
   
• College and University Rankings is maintained by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has lists of Web sites for rankings plus a bibliography with reports on the controversy of ranking.
   
• Top 25 Techno-MBAs by Computerworld lists top American Universities offering IS-integrated MBA courses.
   
• Maclean's Universities Ranking gives an introduction to their annual survey and names the top Canadian university for a few catogories. 1998 survey is still available.
   
• US News Online has selected articles from the printed edition of US News & World Report and has rankings of colleges and universities in the United States. Rankings include Best Colleges and Best Grad Schools.
   
• World's Leading Business Programs by Top Ten has the best MBA programs in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
