The Brenner Library at Level 5 of the Matrix building occupies 700 square-meters. The Library is open from Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 7.00pm; and Saturday from 12.00pm to 6.00pm by the NUS Libraries.

This central library in the niche area of biomedical research for A*STAR Research Institutions (RI) in Biolopis, serves as a focus point for scientists from the different RIs to meet in a scientific setting created to cater to cross-disciplinary interaction.

The library holds selected contemporary top-of-the-line journals and books of a cross-disciplinary nature. In addition, it provides essential library services to cater to the information needs of the researchers. These include

• Online Library Catalogues

• Online renewal of books

• Requests for InterLibrary Loans (ILL)

• Requests for articles/papers from books & journals not held at The Brenner Library

• Requests to purchase new books
• Photocopying services
• Conducive reading areas with wireless access
• Remote professional library support
• Assistance in collection building

A*STAR currently subscribes to more than 4300 electronic journals from 32 publishers negotiated by the NUS Libraries. Each Research Institution can access all the e-journals with the exception of some unique journals which have been licensed for only one or two Research Institutions. These subscribed electronic resources are accessible via the A*STAR Digital Library at http://www.lib.nus.edu.sg/astar. Technical support is also provided for the maintenance and troubleshooting of the database.

The Brenner Library collection is supplemented by an extensive & rich print collection in the NUS Libraries. The NUS Libraries holds more than 1.1 million book titles and 49,000 journal titles with 11,000 current subscriptions. Researchers who are members of the NUS Libraries may request for IntraLibrary Loans for the books to be sent to The Brenner Library for collection.
