Email alerts help you to keep abreast of current literature in your
field of interest.
After creating the alerts in databases or journal publishers, URL links
to the latest citations will be automatically sent to your email account
by the databases or journal publishers.

What is a Proxy Bookmarklet?
To access the full-texts from the URL links listed in your
email alerts, you will have to install the Proxy Bookmarklet - a
bookmark that automatically prepends the A*STAR ej-proxy to the
required URL link in your browser. This allows you access to materials licensed for
use by A*STAR staff. If you are not authenticated, you will be
prompted for your ID and password.
3. How do I install the Proxy Bookmarklet in
my browser?
For Internet Explorer:
1) Right click on this link: <ASTAR
EJ Proxy Bookmarklet>.
2) Select "Add to Favorites".
3) If you wish to add to "Links", go to "Favourites" and drag and drop
the bookmarklet to "Links".
Note:
· Alternative installation method for IE7 only: Click and drag the link
to the "Links" toolbar.
· If a warning message: "You are adding a favorite that may not be safe.
Do you want to continue?" appears, click "Yes" to continue.
· If the "Links" toolbar is not visible in the web browser, go to
View->Toolbars menu of the browser to enable it.
For Mozilla Firefox:
1) Right click on this link: <A*STAR
EJ Proxy Bookmarklet>.
2) Select "Bookmark This Link". Or click and drag the link to the
"Bookmarks" toolbar.
For Safari:
1) Click and drag this link: <A*STAR
EJ Proxy Bookmarklet> to the
"Bookmarks" bar.

How do I use the Bookmarklet to 'proxy' the URL links in email alerts?
Go to the email alert and click the required link of citation alert.

A browser session will open for the link where access to the required
article is restricted.
Click the "A*STAR EJ Proxy Bookmarklet" which you have
installed in your Browser toolbar/Bookmark/Favourites.

The
full-text is now accessible.
Note:
You may be prompted to login to the library proxy if you have not
done so previously.

5. How do I access
full-texts from links retrieved from external websites e.g. Google Scholar?
