Accessing eResources subscribed by A*STAR
  
  1. Log on to A*STAR Digital Library at http://www.lib.nus.edu.sg/astar/ 
     
  2. Select the research institute you belong to for a list of eResources available to you
     
  3. On the next screen, you have 3 options:
    a. Browse alphabetically by ejournal title
    b. Search for keyword from ejournal title
    c. Browse Databases
     
  4. After selecting a title, you will see the Appropriate Use Policy (AUP) page and the login prompt. To login,
    a. Select your domain (i.e. your organization)
    b. Enter your A*STAR UserID
    c. Enter your A*STAR Password
     
  5. Upon successful authentication, you will be directed to the selected eResource. You should be able to access the eResource without having to key in any other username and password.
     
  6. However, there are instances where you may be prompted for a username and password.  This could be due to one of the following reasons:-
     
    a. Personalization
    You are accessing a feature which requires you to first register with the publisher’s site for access by creating a personal username and password.
     
    b. Not subscribed to title
    You are accessing a title which is not included in the subscribed package. When the publisher is also an aggregator for several societies or associations, licenses have to be negotiated separately for each society/association.
     
    c. Not subscribed to archive/backfiles
    You are attempting to access an article contained in the archive/backfiles for which you do not have access. Backfiles have to be negotiated separately from the current files which normally include only the current year and an additional few years of backfiles.
